Today there were 13 out of 19 chrysalids. We transferred 11 of them to the butterfly cage. The other two were still too wiggly and we didn't want to hurt them.

The chrysalids look beautiful, and seem to be bigger than the caterpillars were. Why were two of them wiggly? I wonder if a caterpillar needs to get comfortable before it changes into a pupa?
We think the chrysalis was wiggly because the caterpillar needed to dry off the outside of the chrysalis. We agree with you that the caterpillar may need to get comfortable inside because they are inside there for 7 to 10 days.
